#3 on the 100 Horse Challenge, Soar and just reading the title I knew i was in for a challenge... my mind was already set on drawing a pegasus... unfortunately i cant draw wings to save my life lol... but anyway, I tired. so, its a picture of a pegasus flying over a little island lagoon lol... i thought of Peter Pan the entire time i was doing the background lol the pose was referenced from a wall-hanging sculpture thing i have in my room. and of course, the coat pattern for her was based off of my Kimber. I actually tried really hard on the background, even in you cant tell lol... i referenced the water from a book cover, and the island thingy came from my own mind... if you have any advice you can give me on water, please, feel free oh! and advice on the wings... that is DESPERATELY needed lol...... i was so tempted to draw a bunny-shaped cloud lol.... but it looked kindaa stupid so i took it out. art (c) me
First of all, you improved on the wings, they look much better than on your last work. I'd give you some advice on water, but I struggle with that myself and I haven't even dared to do a fully digital piece yet so I don't really know how to help, but maybe there are some good tutorials on dA about that, and probably about wings too.
The wings, you know I absolutely love to draw wings so I hope I can be of some help. You've got the basic shape pretty much right, now you might want to draw some more feathers there, define them a bit better and add some details like some lighter lines to define the barbs and such. But the only real advice I can give you is, since you're not familiar with wing anatomy and detailing on your works, look up some pictures of wings, observe how they move and work and see how the feathers are displayed. It was how I started out, not I don't need refs, unless I'm trying a new angle that I've no clue on how to get it.
I really like how this one looks, it's probably one of your best digital works. You did really good on the shading and highlights, although it'd look a bit better if you added some even darker shadows here and there. Great work hun, you're definitely improving

You did the flying pose so beautifully, it really does look like she's soaring over a sparkling sea. I love how bright her coat is, chestnuts are beautiful. The anatomy, especially on the legs, looks great too!
Thank you very much! Haha im glad that she actually fits into the background. You know, at first I wasnt very partial to chestnuts... but Kimber (the peggi) changed my mind lol Muchos gracias!

Thank you so much Joana! Yah I looked for some tutorials, but there are SO friggin many that its hard to find a specific one that youre looking for lol... I think that when I do a more serious piece that Ill research the anatomy of a wing a little better... its mainly that I dont really know like how to shape the feathers, i guess... oh well, Ill look into it more for later. Thank you so much for the advice. Im glad you liked it lol
